The Lord of the Rings trilogy revolves around a powerful gold ring. The bearer of that ring would hold power over seven other rings worn by the Elves, Men and Dwarves of Middle Earth. It was referred to as the one ring, the one ring to rule them all. If the evil Lord Sauron were able to find the one ring he would control Middle Earth.

In the story of this webpage šŸ˜‰ the Elves, Men and Dwarves of Middle Earth are represented by the various Internet real estate search engines like Zillow,, Trulia, Red Fin, Land Watch and the like.

You, as a home buyer, are in search of the perfect home. You’re hoping to find your dream homeĀ – and make a winning offer – before someone else beats you to it. You could spend hours a day searching through Zillow and and all the other real estate search engines and still not know when the newest listings hit the market.

Trying to stay on top of a hot market like we have here in Rochester, by searching the big real estate sites like Zillow and, is asĀ hopeless asĀ facing an army of Orcs with a pocket knife. An obviousĀ no winĀ situation.

You see the big search engines, like Zillow, simply scrape data from the local multiple listing services like the SEMAR MLS; Southeast Minnesota Association of Realtors multiple listing service. Because they scrape data – and don’t actually hold the data like SEMAR does – their listing informationĀ is simply never as current. It can’t be. By searching Zillow and Trulia and you’re always a few steps behind the local multiple listing service.

And a few steps behind in a hot market just won’t cut it – especially if you’re searching in the ultra-hot $100,000 to $250,000 price range.

Here on my website I use a different IDX provider than most other local Rochester Realtors. An IDX is simply the software that provides the search capabilities for the data it pulls together from our local MLS. Because I’m a member of the Southeast Minnesota Association of Realtors and a member of the local MLS – my website always has the most current data onĀ local homes for sale.

But, even at that, even with the most current data like you’ll find here on my website – you’re still stuck searching everyday for anything new on the market. Miss a day and you potentially miss the home of your dreams.

All you have to do is bookmark this page and check this one spot everyday. Here you’ll see only the listings that have been on the market for two days or less. You’ll always be on top of the market.
